Youth days "Power machines. The Future Is Here" brought together over 100 students from leading Russian universities in St. Petersburg

Participants of the Youth Days "Power machines. The Future Is Here” were students from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University LETI, St. Petersburg University of Aerospace Instrumentation, St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University, National Research University MPEI, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, South Russian State Polytechnic University, as well as Ufa State Aviation Technical University.

During the three-day meeting, students discussed modern challenges in power engineering with company leaders, went on excursions to the production shops and design bureaus of Electrosila and the Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (including Turbine Production, Blank Production, and Turbine Blade Production), where they could get a first-hand look at working conditions, ask questions to specialists, and discuss the terms of employment.

"The main principle of our student design bureaus is teamwork, because, as you know, no man is an island. Each of you has a team within which you grow, and gain more knowledge and experience under the mentorship of experienced supervisors. I recommend that you make more active use of this opportunity for development, try your hand, and take on new tasks. “Power machines” needs proactive specialists, and I hope that, in the short run, we will meet as colleagues as part of complex and exciting projects for mechanical engineering," said Konstantin Savichev, CEO of the PM Engineering Center, in his greeting speech to the Youth Days participants.

The company is expanding a network of student design bureaus to work with the best-trained engineering and technical personnel. Such departments have been established in nine leading Russian universities. When admitting to SDB, particular focus is attached to students wishing to connect their future with "Power machines". Since 2020, 39 graduates of student design bureaus have been employed in the company’s engineering services, 15 of them in 2023.

Youth days of "Power machines" are an important project as part of large-scale work to train future personnel for engineering, involve students in the real work process, and encourage them to explore the specifics of power engineering and the nuances of their chosen profession.
