The Power Machines student design bureau launched at USATU

Power Machines held a welcome-day for the participants of the student design bureau at the Ufa State Aviation Technical University. Eight university students guided by mentors and supervisors, will be engaged in developing and completing the company's actual technical assignments.

The event was an online meeting between the students and management of Power Machines. The participants were greeted by Alexander Ivanovsky, the company’s General Designer.

“I am absolutely convinced these projects that we and the university are cooperating on will succeed. We need an influx of young, active, and qualified personnel to dynamically develop the products that we create. In our student design bureaus, energetic, smart, and talented students may address various design or technological problems during their studies. Only last year, our students completed a volume of tasks equal to the volume an experienced design department would handle. Therefore, we have expanded the SDB practice to a number of universities, and we are glad to start partnering with USATU in this area,” said Alexander Ivanovsky.

The SDB program will be designed for two years, and students will be supervised by both USATU teachers and experts from Power Machines. While they work in the design bureau, students will receive remuneration and work experience at the enterprise, and upon graduation they will be able to continue working at JSC "Power machines" on more favorable terms compared to other university graduates. The design bureau is equipped with state-of-the-art computers and multimedia devices.

Power Machines is developing a broad network of student design bureaus throughout Russia, and USATU has become one of the eight partner universities of the company. Power Machines SDBs have already been created and are successfully operating at the National Research University MPEI, St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Tomsk Polytechnic University, and others.
