The GTE-170.1 gas turbine, manufactured by Power Machines, received the official status of innovative power equipment
The high-capacity GTE-170.1 gas turbine, manufactured by Power Machines, was the first in Russia to receive the status of innovative power equipment. The corresponding document was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation based on the results of the inspection.
The key conditions to obtain an innovative product status are: design and process documentation developed by the manufacturer itself no more than three years before the date of the selection of modernization projects, the right to use the results of intellectual activity, and confirmation that the equipment is produced on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The documents submitted by Power Machines confirmed full compliance of the GTE-170.1 gas turbine with the requirements of the Russian Government for innovative power equipment.
The project of revival of gas turbine production in Russia is being implemented in accordance with the schedule of the agreement between JSC "Power machines" and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. The company has fully developed the design and process documentation, carried out preparations, and is now manufacturing the first production unit for the first type of turbine (GTE-170.1). Together with leading industry institutes, the remote monitoring and predictive diagnostics system of the GTE-170.1 gas turbine is being developed. In accordance with the program for the development of new products, the first production units of gas turbines will have high reliability indicators with cycle parameters at the same level as those of most installations operated in Russia.
The innovative status gives generating companies an opportunity to use the GTE-170.1 gas turbines manufactured by Power Machines in TPP modernization projects with the use of innovative power equipment.
According to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, the selection of TPP modernization projects for 2027 and the additional selection of modernization projects with the use of innovative power equipment for 2027-2029 will take place on May 1, 2021. The limit size of the total capacity of modernization projects with the use of innovative power equipment is set at 1,610 MW in two price zones of the wholesale market.
In order to create additional measures for the development of domestic mechanical engineering, including high-capacity gas turbines, the Russian Government provides for the selection of thermal power plant modernization projects with up to two gas turbines of 65 to 80 MW capacity, up to three gas turbines of 100 to 130 MW capacity and up to four gas turbines of 150 to 190 MW capacity within the specified implementation periods.
The rapid development of gas turbine production technology by Russian manufacturers will reduce the dependence of domestic energy production on the import of this equipment, ensuring the energy and process security of the country.
