Students of Peter the Great University presented the results of their work at the Power Machines Student Design Bureau

On June 8, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University hosted a reporting event of the "Power machines" Student Design Bureau (SDB) — Demo Day.

Within six months of SDB's work at the Polytechnic University, 24 students successfully solved 1,565 real production tasks in six areas of Power Machines: steam, gas turbines, hydro-turbines, hydro and turbine generators, boiler plants, and production technology. JSC "Power machines" is the customer of all tasks.

During the Demo Day, students reported on the completed tasks, while the company representatives — Chief Designer Alexander Ivanovsky and the head of the Personnel Development Department, Elena Mordvinova — told the SDB participants about the advantages of working in the company, existing opportunities for further professional development, and career prospects.

Power Machines not only offers employment opportunities for graduates of the Polytechnic University, but also is ready to accept current students to the design bureaus (DBs) and technical departments (TDs) divisions for the period of summer vacation to perform current tasks. For the students, this is a unique chance to get into real DBs and TDs, to take part in the implementation of energy-sector projects, and get acquainted with production processes.
