"Power machines" tested a modernized steam turbine for the Kirishi State District Power Plant (SDPP)

"Power machines" has tested a steam turbine for the Kirishi SDPP as part of the State Program for Competitive Selection of Modernized Capacities (KOMMod) and the investment program of PJSC "OGK-2".

The PT-60 steam turbine, manufactured at the Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod, part of JSC "Power machines", successfully passed bench tests on a shaft turning device. The tests were attended by a customer representative.

The turbine is expected to replace the PT-50 machine of block No. 1 of the Kirishi SDPP, which was put into operation at the station in 1965 and has exhausted its service life.

Given a number of new design solutions of "Power machines", the power of the equipment will increase by 10 MW. One of the conditions for the project implementation was the manufacture of a new turbine unit under the existing foundation at the power plant. To enhance the vibration parameters, a low-support design for supporting the rotors was used. Jet blading of the high-pressure cylinder was also used.

"Power machines" previously supplied a set of equipment for turbine unit No. 2 – the first facility as part of the modernization program of the Kirishi SDPP: a TZFP series generator with a capacity of 80 MW produced by the Electrosila plant, a two-casing modified steam turbine PT-65 with a nominal power of 65 MW produced by the Kaluga Turbine Plant, as well as heat exchange and auxiliary equipment. The equipment has already been put into commercial operation.

Kirishi SDPP is a branch of PJSC OGK-2, a leading thermal generation company, providing about 4.5% of electricity generation in the country. Replacement and modernization of the equipment of the TPP-part of Kirishi SDPP, which was put into operation from 1965 to 1974 and has exhausted its resource, is necessary to ensure long-term thermal energy supplies in the form of hot water and steam to consumers.
