"Power machines" Ships the Stator Upgrade Kit for Hydropower Unit No. 18 at Cheboksary HPP

The Electrosila Plant (part of JSC "Power machines") manufactured and shipped equipment as part of the reconstruction of the hydrogenerator station. No. 18 Cheboksary HPP (customer: PJSC RusHydro).

The delivery set included a stator with a total weight of over 320 tons, a regulatory generator, sets of spare parts, and air coolers of an improved design: their covers are made of corrosion-resistant steel, which both helps prevent corrosion as well as reduces zebra mussel proliferation. The plant will further provide management for the installation and commissioning of equipment.
The hydraulic unit No. 18 generator was manufactured in the 1980s by a third-party company using technologies that are now outdated: both the steel structure of the stator and its winding needed to be modernized. Whereas stator assembly on the generators of Cheboksary HPP used to be carried out from sectors, "Power machines" now applies the advanced technology of ring assembly at the assembly site. This ensures a more stable stator shape and low vibration levels.

JSC "Power machines" has been participating in the modernization of the Cheboksary HPP since 2007. The delivery of hydropower unit No. 18 is part of the comprehensive modernization program for RusHydro's hydropower plants.
