Power Machines Participate in Development of National Standards for Hydropower

The work of the Research and Testing Center (RTC) of the Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (JSC Power Machines) on the development of a national standard for the needs of the Russian hydropower industry has been highly appreciated by the Technical Committee for Standardization in Electric Power Industry.

Power Machines are the authors of GOST R IEC "Hydraulic radial and axial machines. Performance conversion method from model to prototype." The Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart) approved it in November 2021.

Currently, the RTC is about to issue two more standards – for the assessment of PSPP equipment cavitation erosion and for the in-service vibration monitoring of hydroelectric units. In the future, it is planned to update the national standards, which are the basic ones for simulation and full-scale tests of HPP equipment.

The national standards are being developed as part of the National Standardization Program. It is aimed at replacing foreign standards in foreign languages for the needs of power companies in Russia, CIS countries, and the Baltic States.
