"Power machines" Manufactures Steam Turbine for Modernization of Iriklinskaya SDPP

"Power machines" has manufactured and tested a steam turbine to modernize generating capacity of Iriklinskaya SDPP (JSC "Inter RAO — Electric Power Plants").

The steam turbine К-330-23,5-1Р manufactured at Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (LMZ), a part of JSC "Power machines", successfully passed bench tests on the barring gear in the presence of the customer's representative.

The machine will replace turbine K-300-240-1 of unit No. 4 at Iriklinskaya SDPP, which was manufactured by the plant in 1971 and has reached the end of its service life.

The turbine's technical and economic indicators were improved by a number of new design solutions. The rated capacity was increased from 300 MW to 330 MW.

For example, a reactive blading is used in the wheel space part of the steam turbine's high pressure cylinder instead of an active blading, and a new design of radial seals has been introduced to ensure their long service life. The medium pressure cylinder has a new diaphragm and rotating blades with integrally-machined shrouds for improved efficiency. A considerable number of new design and technological solutions were also implemented in the modernization of the low pressure cylinder wheel space part, including the use of a solid-forged low pressure rotor.

The contractual obligations of "Power machines" include supervision, commissioning and participation in warranty tests of the supplied equipment.

Iriklinskaya SDPP is the most powerful power plant in the South Urals. The work is being carried out as part of the federal program for the modernization of power plants generating equipment (Competitive Selection of Modernized Capacities). Iriklinskaya SDPP unit No. 4, with a capacity of 300 MW, has been in operation for over 50 years and was commissioned in June 1972. There are plans for a complete replacement of the unit's steam turbine and replacement of the generator (outside the Competitive Selection of Modernized Capacities program). As a result, the unit's electrical capacity will increase by 30 MW.
