Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod produced a guide vane for the hydropower unit (HU) No. 3 of the Mainskaya HPP. The equipment will be delivered to the station in December 2020.
The guide vane is one of the largest elements of the HU. It is designed to supply water flow to the impeller and regulate its flow through the turbine, depending on the load and rotation speed of the hydropower unit.
Among the features of the new device for Mainskaya HPP is the use of modern antifriction material in the support units that does not require lubrication during operation. In addition, the new design of the upper ring allows the HPP personnel to replace the bearings and sealing elements of the lower pins of the blades without complete disassembly of the device, which improves maintainability and reduces the customer's costs for HU maintenance.
Simultaneously with the shipment of the finished apparatus to the customer, Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod is completing work on assembling a rotary vane impeller, also intended for HU No. 3 of Mainskaya HPP.
The contract for the supply of hydro-turbine equipment for the Mainskaya HPP was signed between Power Machines and RusHydro in September 2018. The scope of obligations of Power Machines includes the manufacture and supply of equipment for hydraulic turbines of units No. 1,2,3 of the Mainskaya HPP and the provision of installation supervision services.
As a result of the project implementation, the efficiency of the units will be increased, and the capacity of each unit (at the maximum head) will increase from 110 MW to 113.5 MW.
To date, Power Machines has manufactured a guide vane, an impeller chamber, an oil-filled unit, turbine automation equipment for HU No. 3, as well as spare parts for hydro turbines of HU No. 1,2,3.
The commissioning of HU No.3 is scheduled for November 2021.
