"Power machines" hosted an exhibition of the RPL Champions Cup and an autograph session of FC Zenit legendary players
Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod, a part of JSC "Power machines", hosted an exhibition of FC Zenit Champions Cup. Alexey Igonin and Valery Tsvetkov, Zenit team legendary players, visited Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod, attended the production facilities and held an autograph session for employees. The event is timed to Machine Builders Day.
Zenit Saint Petersburg Football Club traces its ancestry to the physical culture club of the Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (LMZ). In 1925, a football team emerged here, later rebranded as "Zenit," with the official date of birth now recognized as May 25, 1925.
The machine-building team of "Power machines" is proud of its shared history with Zenit. For example, one of the shops of LMZ has graffiti dedicated to the favorite team. In 2013, a new FC Zenit playing uniform was presented at LMZ, and in 2021, filming for the presentation of the FC Zenit women's team took place in the plant's workshops. Video for the 98th anniversary of "Zenit - St. Petersburg: Brighter than the Stars!" - about the history of the club and the great path from the factory physical training circle to the flagship of Russian football begins with shots on a 19-meter carousel machine in the steam turbine shop of LMZ.
Zenit is the reigning Russian soccer champion. In the 2022-2023 season, the Blue-and-Whites secured the trophy for the fifth consecutive time and the tenth time in their history (counting the USSR title). Thanks to this, Zenit was awarded the honorary right to put a second gold star on the emblem.
