"Power machines" Holds a Demo Day for the Company's Student Design Bureaus at Russia's Leading Technical Universities

"Power machines" hosted the traditional Demo day for nine student design bureaus (SDBs) organized by the company based on the country's leading technical universities. The SDB participants in the online format presented the results of the work from October 2022 to February 2023 and discussed future plans.
Students involved in the SDBs and their mentors from the company and the university presented projects in the key areas of "Power machines" work: gas, steam and hydro turbines, turbo- and hydrogenerators, boiler plants, automation systems and electrical machines, technical controls, and received feedback from experts.
The results were evaluated by the heads of the engineering sector of "Power machines" – General Designer Alexander Ivanovsky, Director of the Engineering Center Konstantin Savichev and the heads of design bureaus and technical departments.
The company is developing a network of student design bureaus to work with the best trained engineering personnel. As the project has progressed, the approach to staffing the SDBs has changed – if previously all students who were fundamentally interested in power engineering and mechanical engineering were accepted, priority is now given to those who want to connect their future with "Power machines".
The SDB training program is designed to last two years. Participation in it enables future specialists not only to apply the university knowledge acquired in solving real production tasks, but also to gain an insight into the company's business processes. The SDB graduates can find employment at "Power machines" enterprises in higher positions than graduates of the main educational programs.
Today 110 future specialists are being trained at nine SDBs of "Power machines": National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute", Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Ufa State Aviation Technical University, Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI", Platov South Russian State Polytechnic University, Polzunov Altai State Technical University, and the Kaluga branch of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
