Power Machines have developed their own software and hardware package for the in-process control and diagnostics of power equipment

Specialists of Power Machines have developed a software and hardware package (SHP) for the in-process control and diagnostics and hooked a steam turbine into it at the customer's TPP for the first time.

The corresponding R&D has been carried out by Power Machines specialists since 2019, with the specialized Russian research institutes involved in the project.

The functionality of the developed package allows for diagnostics of steam turbine units at the customer's site, as well as organizing safe data transfer to the "Power machines" expert diagnostic center for the in-depth study and analysis.

During the trial operation which will last until the end of 2020, the diagnostic algorithms will be checked, forecast models tested, and the user interface will be improved.

Amongst the distinctive features of the software and hardware package for the in-process control and diagnostics of Power Machines is the use of its own software, automated diagnostics of more than 30 malfunctions in the steam turbine operation, including those based on the vibration spectrum analysis.

The package developed by Power Machines will allow customers to move beyond scheduled preventive maintenance to repairs based on actual technical conditions. The currently ongoing R&D is aimed at the extension of the SHP functionality which would allow diagnostics of gas turbine plants, boiler equipment and hydropower units of HPPs.
