Power Machines have completed the first stage of creating the wheel space part of the GTE-65.1 gas turbine unit
As part of the project aimed at creating entirely indigenous gas turbines, Power Machines completed the first stage of developing the new wheel space part for the GTE-65.1 gas turbine.
The basic design analysis of the GTE-65.0 sample manufactured by "Power machines", was carried out by the Lyulka Experimental Design Bureau (branch of ODK-UMPO PJSC).
Based on this analysis, the specialists of the design bureau established a concept for the upgrade of the turbine wheel space part. The concept is already being implemented. Namely, new gas-dynamic surfaces of the moving and fixed blades of the GT-65.1 turbine have been developed. Changing the blade profiles should lead to an increase in the efficiency of the turbine wheel space part to achieve the target parameters of the GTE-65.1 project.
The next stage which will be completed by the end of 2020, includes development of a new blade cooling system. In 2021, it is planned to release a pilot batch of first-stage blades to be tested at the testing facility of NPO CKTI named after I.I. Polzunov. The blades will be manufactured using additive technologies - 3D-printed, which is a new experience for Power Machines.
