Wi-Fi became available in 16 workshops located at several sites of the Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (LMZ) in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. The network will allow production personnel to access e-versions of blueprints, tasks per shift/day, and other documentation.
A pilot project to deploy Wi-Fi at production sites was implemented in 2019 and has shown its effectiveness. In this regard, it was decided to expand the use of wireless access to the company's information resources at production sites.
Specialists created 240 access points to cover 16 workshops. The guaranteed data transfer rate is 25 Mbps, and the maximum rate is 200 Mbps.
The wireless network provides the manufacturing team with access to e-documents, thus reducing the hard-copy paperwork. All information can now be obtained right at the workshop via stationary terminals, information kiosks, and tablets.
Within digitization of its business processes, the company plans to fully cover other production sites of Power Machines with Wi-Fi in the future.
