"POWER MACHINES" EQUIPMENT UNDERGO COMPREHENSIVE TESTING AT KIRISHSKAYA SDPP

Within the framework of the State Program of Competitive Selection of Upgraded Capacity and the investment program of PJSC "OGK-2", "Power machines" supplied an upgraded turbine unit for the thermal power plant at Kirishskaya SDPP of PJSC "OGK-2". The implementation of the project will ensure reliable long-term supply of thermal energy in the form of steam to the largest oil refinery in the northwestern region of Russia and increase the safety and capacity of the plant.
Turbine unit No. 2 is the first facility under the program. For its modernization "Power machines" supplied an 80 MW generator of ТЗФП type made by Electrosila Plant, a double-casing modified steam turbine ПТ-65 with a rated capacity of 65 MW made by Kaluga Turbine Works, as well as heat-exchange and auxiliary equipment.

A number of new design solutions are implemented in the equipment. For example, the high-pressure cylinder in the ПТ-65 turbine was rotated 180° relative to its position in the turbine unit being replaced. This change caused the steam in the high- and medium-pressure cylinders to flow in opposite directions, which had a positive effect on the value of the axial force on the shaft line. The applied design solutions for the replacement of the turbine flow elements made it possible to increase the total power of the modernized machine by 8% compared to the basic machine. And in the new Electrosila generator, the hydrogen cooling system has been replaced by an air cooling system.

Installation and commissioning of the equipment was carried out in the operating shop of the power plant with a continuous supply of heat to consumers. The new turbine unit was installed to replace the one that had expired and was successfully tested, confirming its operating parameters in different modes of operation. The equipment was commissioned, and steam output at a pressure of 16 atmospheres was started for the technological needs of the refinery.

Kirishskaya SDPP is a branch of PJSC "OGK-2", a leading thermal power generation company, providing about 6% of the country's electricity generation. Replacement and modernization of the equipment of the TPP-part of Kirishskaya SDPP, which was put into operation from 1965 to 1974 and has exhausted its resource, is necessary to ensure long-term thermal energy supplies in the form of hot water and steam to consumers.
