Power Machines continues to equip the production facilities for medium and heavy-duty gas turbines
The machine-tool fleet of the Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (LMZ) was enlarged with a band saw machine and a sandblasting chamber. The new equipment was supplied as part of a project for the manufacture of medium and high capacity gas turbines.
To date, the production facilities of LMZ have been equipped with 36 units of new machine tools for the manufacture of gas turbines. By the end of the year, it is planned to receive nine more units.
The band saw machine is designed for cutting units of gas turbines GTE-65 and GTE-170. The machine can perform both straight cuts and at an angle in two planes – the process is automated by moving the saw frame axially relative to the table on which the workpiece is placed.
The new sandblasting chamber is designed for processing workpieces and welded metal structures of gas turbines (inner shell, combustion liner, etc.) made of stainless-steel grades. The chamber is equipped with modern sandblasters.
Production of GTE-65 and GTE-170 gas turbines is carried out at Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod, which is the plant of Power Machines. The project for creating completely domestic gas turbines by Power Machines involves three production sites and 1645 pieces of equipment. One of the key areas of the company's investment program is retrofitting of the production with key groups of equipment to eliminate bottlenecks. The total investment in production retrofitting exceeds 4 billion rubles.
