Power Machines Completed Testing of the Rotor for the TG-2T Turbine of Kirishskaya SDPP PJSC «OGK-2»

Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (JSC «Power machines» affiliate) completed final tests of the upgraded low pressure rotor for the second turbine for the TPP-part of Kirishskaya SDPP. The rotor was upgraded as a part of the turbine equipment modernization process under the Competitive Selection of Modernized Capacities (KOMMod) program. The equipment is prepared to be delivered to the power plant.

At the accelerating and balancing stand, an approximately 16-tonne bladed rotor was spun in a vacuum at high speeds up to 3,450 rpm. It was checked for runout, and geometric measurements were taken after balancing.

For reference:

The TG-2T turbine reconstruction project at Kirishskaya SDPP was selected for implementation at the first stage of the Competitive Selection of Modernized Capacities (KOMMod). The second turbine of the TPP-part of the power plant has accumulated more than 392,000 hours over the last 54 years. In 2021 Kaluga Turbine Works manufactured and supplied a condenser to the power plant, and the Electrosila plant produced an 80 MW generator for the second turbine of the TPP-part of the power plant. Replacement and reconstruction of the equipment of the TPP-part of Kirishskaya SDPP, which began operating in 1966 and has exhausted its resource, is necessary to ensure long-term thermal energy supplies in the form of hot water and steam to consumers.

Kirishskaya SDPP is a branch of PJSC «OGK-2», Russia's leading thermal generation company that provides about 6% of the electricity generation in the country.
