Power Machines are completing the development of a draft design for the remote monitoring and predictive diagnostics system of GTE-170.1

As part of R&D within the project to create a domestic high-power gas turbine, Power Machines completed the work and submitted a draft design of the remote monitoring and predictive diagnostics system of GTE-170.1 for examination.

The draft design of the remote monitoring and predictive diagnostics system of GTE-170.1 was developed by Power Machines in partnership with the All-Russian Thermal Engineering Institute (OJSC VTI) - a leading research institution focusing on many industries, one of which is the development of predictive maintenance systems.

The project is based on the algorithms of the software and hardware package created by Power Machines for in-process control and diagnostics of the power equipment of TPPs. The system features will make it possible to diagnose equipment at the customer's site, performing repairs based on the actual technical condition instead of scheduled preventive maintenance, as well as organizing safe data transfer for analysis in the expert diagnostic center of Power Machines.

During the completed stage, the technical concept of a system was formed: its main characteristics, operating principles, and design solutions. After analyzing the world practices in the operation of gas turbines with a capacity of 60 MW or more, a list of malfunctions was determined, which would serve as a basis for developing diagnostic algorithms ensuring automatic detection of irregularities in equipment operation.

Factory tests of the GTE-170.1 remote monitoring and predictive diagnostic system will take place in 2022. During the trial operation, the functioning of diagnostic algorithms will be checked, forecast models tested, and the user interface will be improved.
