Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod manufactured and completed the shipment of the largest hydraulic turbine component for the Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP

Professionals from Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod manufactured and completed the shipment of the 86-ton hydraulic turbine impeller intended for hydropower unit No. 4 of the Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP under construction in the Magadan Region.

Cargo with a diameter of 5.8 m and a height of more than 3 m was delivered from the plant by trailer truck to the seaport "Big Port of Saint Petersburg." At present, LMZ is completing the manufacture of the hydraulic turbine and continues to ship generating equipment manufactured by Electrosila to the port.

The vessel, with a complete set of equipment for hydropower unit No. 4 of the Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP, will depart in April 2021 and will sail by sea route to the Magadan Commercial Port️, and then the equipment will be transported by road for about 450 km to the HPP construction site.

The equipment was manufactured in accordance with the agreement between Power Machines and JSC Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP, named after A. F. Dyakov, signed in 2019. The obligations of "Power machines" include the manufacture and delivery to the Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP of the hydraulic turbine with automatic control system (ACS), the hydrogenerator complete with the excitation system, and auxiliary equipment for hydropower unit No. 4. In addition, the experts from "Power machines" will provide installation supervision services.

Commissioning of hydropower unit No. 4 and the plant's reaching its design capacity of 570 MW are scheduled for 2022, while completion of HPP construction is scheduled for 2023.
