For reference:

St. Petersburg football club "Zenit" traces its lineage to the physical culture club of the LMZ named after Stalin. It was at this plant that football teams were organized, which became the progenitors of the current Zenit, the official date of birth of which is now considered to be May 25, 1925.

Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod was founded in 1857 (the original name was St. Petersburg Metal Plant). By the end of the XIX century, it became the largest manufacturer of equipment for the construction, heavy equipment and military industries in Russia, a supplier to the Imperial Court, and a pioneer of Russian power engineering.

The main specialization of the plant is the production of turbines and auxiliary equipment for hydraulic, thermal, and nuclear power plants. LMZ has more than a century of experience in creating steam and hydraulic turbines of various versions and capacities. The first steam turbine produced by LMZ was put into commercial operation in 1907, the first Russian hydraulic turbine – in 1924.
