Fire and industrial safety training sessions were held at "Power machines"

On September 14, training sessions on fire and industrial safety were held at the Blank Production of the Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (part of JSC "Power machines") in the Novodevyatkinsky rural settlement of the Leningrad region.

It engaged 130 specialists, including managers and employees of the company, employees of the 94th fire and rescue unit of the 15th fire and rescue squad of the federal fire service of the State Fire Service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Leningrad Region, and the emergency rescue service "ECOSPAS". Two units of mobile equipment were involved.

Simulation assumed that the first fire occurred on the first floor of the Administrative Building of Blank Production Workshops (AB BPW) as a result of a short circuit in the electrical panel, followed by smoke contamination in the entire building. After that, natural gas was released and a zone with its increased content was formed at the combustion chamber testing stand, due to the depressurization of the flange connection on the high-pressure natural gas process pipeline. The arriving crew of the fire department eliminated the source of the fire, carried out a tour of the AB BPW premises, freeing the remaining workers from the smoke-filled premises, and removed the victim from the fire. The employees of the ECOSPAS emergency rescue service conducted a reconnaissance of the gas-polluted area and removed two victims from the accident zone who were poisoned by combustion products and natural gas. Having received first aid, they were sent to a medical facility.

"Annual fire and industrial safety drills are held at our enterprises on a regular basis, their task is to maintain a high level of employee readiness for any emergency situations. I am pleased to note that the actions of our personnel during such training are traditionally highly appreciated by professional firefighters and rescuers. This time, all colleagues succeeded in coping with the challenges posed," commented Boris Tsyganok, Director of Operation and Technical Development of "Power machines".

Practicing practical skills in responding to emergency situations is a major component of the company’s set of measures to improve occupational safety. This work is being conducted as part of the "Power machines" ESG strategy, aimed at achieving sustainable development goals. Its key goals involve life safety, reducing injury rates, and maintaining a zero level of fatal injuries through the introduction of modern safety tools.
