Experts at the Electrosila plant have developed an innovative excitation system for turbo and hydro generators
Based on their own long-term experience in the design and development of equipment, as well as the analysis of customer feedback, the specialists of the power engineering enterprise Electrosila plant have created a new type of excitation system designed for turbo and hydro generators with excitation currents up to 2500 A.
The innovative development includes design and technical solutions that meet the customer's requirements in the best ways — reduction in size and maintenance safety. Thus, the new design of the excitation system ensures the safety of personnel when working with energized equipment, and also eliminates the risk of damage to the units during installation or removal.
The new excitation system fits into the existing rooms of the field breaker for electric machine excitation systems and the premises of control equipment and diode rectifier cabinets for high-frequency excitation systems.
Two new excitation systems were already delivered and the equipment was put into operation at the Kazan TPP-1 by JSC "Tatenergo" at the end of 2020.
"The manufacturer offered the cost for the entire scope of works half as much as other participants of the tender did," Sergey Cherepanov, the head of the electrical department of the Kazan TPP-1 says. "The advantage of this system is its compactness: it did not go beyond the dimensions of the existing field breaker room, and therefore, there is no need for additional construction and installation work at the place of its location."
"Refusal of complex technical solutions and roll-out bridges make the excitation system produced by Electrosila compact, safe in operation and reliable," Oleg Gostyukhin adds. He is the Sales Director of "Energostal" LLC, a contractor company that completed a full range of design, construction, installation, and commissioning works at the plant.
The next shipment of the new excitation system is planned for the Omsk TPP-4.
