Enrolment Targets of "Professionalitet" Project, "Mechanical Engineering" Cluster, Smashed

More than 580 applications for training under the "Professionalitet" federal project in the "Mechanical Engineering" educational and production cluster, created with the support of "Power machines", have been submitted over a month after the start of the enrollment campaign. This is 123% higher than the target for the academic year 2022-2023.

Candidates are invited to apply for a studentship in three subjects: mechanical engineering technology, adjustment of computer-controlled machines, manual and partially mechanized welding. The period of training in the above subjects of the "Professionaltet" project is 2 years and 10 months. Other advantages are the expanding of the competencies of college and technical school students by obtaining additional vocational professions and the educational process itself, which is as close as possible to real production conditions. The qualification gained provides a number of advantages for further employment at the cluster's partner enterprises, in particular, at JSC "Power machines". The Company also takes part in the development of educational programs for popular professions and invests in the modernization of infrastructure, namely jobs for students of the "Mechanical Engineering" cluster.

The flagship institution of the educational and industrial cluster is the St. Petersburg Electric Machine Engineering College. The educational cluster also includes the Technical School of Power Engineering and Metalworking, Malookhtinsky College, Russian College of Traditional Culture, St. Petersburg Technical College, Izhora College, and Industrial and Engineering College named after N.I. Putilov.

The "Professionalitet" federal project of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation is included in the strategic initiatives for the socio-economic development of Russia until 2030 and is aimed at creating a fundamentally new sectoral model for training qualified personnel within the existing vocational education system to meet the current needs of the real economy. The agreement on establishing the Mechanical Engineering cluster was signed by JSC "Power machines," the St. Petersburg Education Committee, St. Petersburg Electric Machine Engineering College and other educational institutions in April 2022.
