Power Machines has announced the winners of the third «Power of the Future» technical championship

The third «Power of the Future» technical championship, organized by the PJSC, «Power machines», for students of Russian universities has ended. Seven teams from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Novosibirsk, and Ekaterinburg competed in the finals.

The first place was taken by the National Research University «MPEI» team with the «Profiling of steam turbine wheel space part with a capacity of up to 200 MW» project.

The second place was awarded to students of the St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University for the «Modernization of the lubrication systems and air seal of a GTE bearing in order to optimize its performance» project.

Future engineers from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University who presented the «Modeling a hybrid power plant» project and took third place.

The winners received valuable prizes: invitation for a paid internship at Power Machines divisions, and the opportunity to write a diploma under the guidance of an expert from the company. Teams that took second and third place were also invited to undergo internships or paid internships with the opportunity to write a diploma under the guidance of a Power Machines representative.

Moreover, representatives of all finalist teams attended the conference of Power Machines for young specialists.

The first technical championship took place in May 2018. Forty-two teams from sixteen universities submitted applications for participation. Kazan State Power Engineering University team with the «Product development of the steam sieve of the steam turbine control box with the decrease in hydraulic resistance» project took first place.

The second technical championship «Power of the future» took place in the spring of 2019. Thirty-seven teams applied for participation. The first place was taken by the team «Stress Tensor Symphony» of the Baltic State Technical University «VOENMEKH». im. D. F. Ustinova with the «Development of technology for stamping a turbine blade» project.
