Power Machines keeps on construction of a new factory

The OJSC "Power Machines" keeps on realisation of the program of construction of a new enterprise for manufacture of equipment for the power machine industry. The company is not going to abandon any of the stated goals whatsoever.

In 2008 expenses on design and research works made about 8.5 million US dollars. In 2009 the expenses are planned at the rate of 36 million US dollars for continuation of the works of designing of the technology of the planned enterprise, as well as on the performance of the projects and working documentation of the objects of capital construction.

It is planned to start civil works on the allocated sites in the "Metallostroy" industrial zone, yet at the beginning of 2010. It would allow to achieve 1.5 times increase in the industrial capacity of the company within several years.

According to the general director of the OJSC "Power Machines", Igor Kostin, the construction of the new industrial complex fitted with up-to date equipment presents one of the basic directions of strategic development of the company. Progressively, in the course of expansion of the construction, the capacities of the branches of OJSC "Power Machines" – the "Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod", the "Electrosila" factory, the "Turbine Blades’ Plant", located at present within the boundaries of the city, will be transferred to the new site.

Construction of the new enterprise would allow to achieve a synergistic effect due to integration of similar technological processes available at every factory, on the grounds of common floor spaces. The facility of new production based on the most up-to-date technologies would allow the company to ensure high quality of the issued produce, increase of technological possibilities and productivity of labour, optimise production and auxiliary premises, reduce the operational costs of the maintenance of the production, etc.

Within the frameworks of development of the new manufacture, in addition to the existing nomenclature, we plan to increase the release of steam turbines, including low-speed ones, and high-power turbogenerators (exceeding 500 MW) for large coal-fired power units and atomic power plants, as well as to increase the release of gas-turbines of the various capacity.
