Power Machines commissioned power units manufactured for Diesel Power Plant in Greece

In February 2003 Power Machines and Doosan Engine Co. (Korea) won a tender for supply of equipment for Kos Island Diesel Power Plant (DPP) in Greece. According to the project Power Machines was to design, manufacture, supply and assemble two diesel generators (2 x 16,5 MW) with static excitation systems.

Generators for diesel power plants of such capacities are designed to the improved technical characteristics and are advanced development of Power Machines. In Russia the generators were manufactured for the first time.

Power Machines is implementing other projects in Greece: contract on supply of diesel-generator of 11,2 MW capacity for Paros Island DPP, contract on supply of diesel-generator of 14,5 MW capacity for Hios Island DPP. Before delivery to the customer the equipment for Hios Island DPP was tested and proved at the manufacturing stage during model tests in October. The Customer intends to order one more diesel-generator for Hios Island DPP.

The company is invited to participate in tenders for supply of diesel-generators (6 x 20 MW) for Rhodos Island DPP and Crete Island DPP – in general 12 generators of 50 MW capacity each to be supplied till 2014.

The main competitors of Power Machines in Greece are ABB-Finland, Alstom-Spain, Meidensha-Japan, Dolmel-Poland and other companies well-known in the international power market.

Production of diesel-generators of such capacities is one of the most advanced development of Power Machines and it will strengthen the position of the company in the field of power generating equipment of small capacities.
