Vladimir Alexandrovich Demyanov, the manager of the PJSC Power Machines service center, is a member of a group of authors who have been awarded the Russian Federation Government Award in science and engineering for solutions to ecological problems of aquatic environment protection by the large-scale introduction of non-lubricated power equipment bearing, based on new materials.
"The development and introduction of non-lubricated bearings is a result of an extensive range of research and development works that were carried out at the PJSC Power Machines, hand in hand with a number of other organizations. Important calculated and experimental results were obtained. For example, unique experiments studying friction in respect of hydroturbine components were carried out in the water turbines laboratory, jointly with the academic organization. Vladimir Alexandrovich Demyanov, who was the chief hydroturbine designer at that time, played a big role in the organization and carrying out of these works. Our offer to include him in our authors’ team was accepted, and I would like to congratulate him both personally, and as part of the whole team at the Gidroturbomash special design bureau, with a well-deserved award", stated Yuri Kirillovich Petrenya, General Director of PJSC Power Machines.
Vladimir Alexandrovich Demyanov was born in Leningrad. He graduated from the engineering institute (LMZ-VTUZ) with a degree in Hydraulic Machines and Automation Facilities, as well as the Academy of Management Methods and Technology (LITMU). He is a Candidate of Science (Engineering).
In 1981, he entered employment at the Special Design Bureau Gidroturbomash of the Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod. In 2002, he headed the Special Design Bureau Gidroturbomash, having taken the post of the chief hydroturbine designer - head Special Design Bureau Gidroturbomash of Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod, PJSC Power Machines.
From 2010 to February 2017, he was General Designer of PJSC Power Machines - Technical Director of Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod. Since February 2017, he has been the head of the PJSC Power Machines service center.
He was awarded the Order of Honor for his major contribution to the
post-accident recovery at the P.S. Neporozhniy Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP, and the
development of the fuel and energy complex of Siberia.
