The Russian Power Machines Building Group has become the winner in the contest conducted by the Ministry of Finance of the RF and the Ministry of Industrial Science of the RF for construction and delivery of equipment of the HPP “Playkrong” and the HPP “Sesan-3” in Vietnam.
Construction of the power plant will be carried out within the framework of the intergovernmental agreement signed in March 2002 by the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. According to the agreement The Russian Federation will grant Vietnam a state credit amounting to 100 million US dollars, thus facilitating in construction of two electric power plants: HPP “Playkrong” (2x60 kV) and the HPP “Sesan-3” (2 x137 Mw).
The contracts for HPP “Playkrong” and the HPP “Sesan-3” are to be signed in 2002.
Main equipment for the plants (Francis turbines and hydro electric units) will be manufactured at the enterprises that belong to the Power Machines Group - joint-stock companies “Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod” and “Electrosila”.
Activity for equipment production, including design work are to start in the first quarter of the next year. Estimated date for completion of the hydro power plant construction – the end of 2007.
The Power Machines Group comprises the following joint-stock companies: Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod, Electrosila, Turbine Blades Plant, Kaluga Turbine Works and Energomachexport – Power Machines.
