The CJSC "Energomachexport – Power Machines and the JSC "Engineering company "Kvarts" have signed the contract for delivery of equipment for the second block under construction of the Nizhnevartovsk electric power plant (JSC "Tyumenenergo").
As stipulated by the contractual terms JSC "Electrosila" will manufacture the 800 Mw turbo-generator with hydrogen-water cooling with the matching systems of excitation and process monitoring for the second power unit of the regional HPP. The equipment delivery is to take place in the third quarter of 2003.
Construction of the second unit of the plant is taking place within the framework of investment of the ten-years programme for industrial construction and development of the power system elaborated by the JSC "Tyumenenergo". The programme stipulates construction of the Nizhnevartovsk HPP (the second and the third units), reconstruction of the Surgut regional plants – HPP-1 and HPP-2.
Realisation of this investment project will make it possible to maintain the present volume of power production as well as take care of the growing power demands. According to the expert judgement the Tyumen region’s requirement in electric power amounts to 9000 Mw, and by 2010 it will be increased to 10400 Mw.
The Nizhnevartovsk electric power plan (JSC "Tyumenenergo") is one of the largest power generating enterprises of the Tyumen region. The decision to construct the Nizhnevartovsk electric power plan was taken in 1980 and in 1993 the first power unit with the capacity of more than 5 milliard kilowatt-hours per year was put into operation.
Being in the centre of the energy system the plant will make energy supply in the region more reliable.
At present the installed capacity of the plant is 800 Mw.
