On December 17, the governmental delegation of the Republic of Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina headed by President of the Republic Milorad Dodik met with the management of Power Machines OJSC.
Welcoming the foreign guests, Roman Philippov, Director General of the Russian power engineering company, expressed to Milorad Dodik his appreciation for the possibility of dialogue and willingness to cooperate within the framework of Republic’s prospective energy projects.
During the course of the meeting, the parties discussed options of mutual cooperation development, and also agreed on partnership.
Installed capacity of power plants operated in the Republic of Srpska totals 2 GW. Turbines and generators manufactured in the 1980s at Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod and Electrosila, which are parts of Power Machines OJSC, are operated at thermal power plants Ugljevik TPP and Gacko TPP. Currently, the equipment has exhausted its lifespan and requires modernization.
Along with the equipment modernization, plans pursued by the leadership of the Republic of Srpska involve constructing new power units within existing thermal power plants, as well as a new hydropower plant Dabar, which is a priority project for the county’s energy industry.
