Power Machines won a tender for Avuong HPP (Vietnam)

Power Machines in a consortium with Sumitomo Corporation (Japan) won a tender for construction of Avuong HPP (Vietnam). Sumitomo Corporation (Japan) signed a contract for supply of equipment for machine hall of the plant on the “turn-key” basis. The share of Power Machines in price of the contract amounts to 17.3 million US$. The Customer is the Vietnamese state power corporation “Electricity of Vietnam” (EVN).

According to the project Power Machines will design, manufacture, supply, erect and commission two hydro turbines (2 x 150 MW) as well as supply of part of electrical equipment, cranes and other auxiliary equipment.

On the customer's request supplying of the equipment should be completed in the beginning of 2007. The power plant is planned to be commissioned in the end of 2007.

This is the second project of Power Machines in cooperation with major Japanese enterprise Sumitomo Corp. in Vietnam. In July, 2006 Power Machines and Sumitomo Corp. signed a contract on supply of hydro turbine equipment with auxiliary systems for two power units (2 x 140 MW) of Buon Kuop HPP.

Sumitomo Corp. can take credits from its government for participation in international tenders, including for power plants construction in Vietnam. In this area Power Machines’ cooperation with the Japanese partner reveals great prospects for further cooperation.
