Power Machines – Toshiba. High-Voltage Transformers utilised a number of 500-kV transformers

Power Machines – Toshiba. High-Voltage Transformers, JSC (CMTT) has produced and tested first 500-kV transformers designed for PAO FSK EES.

Pursuant to the terms and conditions of the contract concluded in October 2014, CMTT will deliver three single-phase 500-kV autotransformers, 167 MVA each, for the purpose of retrofitting the Gazovaya substation in Orenburg Region.

Today, all autotransformers underwent successful testing and are in the process of shipping to the client. Next, the CMTT specialists will conduct supervision installation jobs at the site currently being prepared for erection activities. The transformers are scheduled for putting into service in Q4 2016.

At the manufacturing stage, CMTT has worked out a variety of issues related to the design and production technologies combining the experience of Toshiba and recent engineering solutions. The autotransformers are highly reliable and low in losses.

Successful utilisation of 500-kV equipment support high production level of CMTT and their readiness to replace imported items on the domestic market of Russia.

This series of transformers will be followed by four single-phase 500-kV transformers, 267 MVA each, designed for the retrofit project of RusHydro’s Volzhskaya HPP. Manufacturing of the equipment is in progress.
