Power Machines to supply auxiliary equipment for Kalininskaya NPP

Power Machines and Atomenergoprom signed a contract for supplies of auxiliary equipment for turbine unit electrical procurement of power unit No. 4 of Kalininskaya NPP.

Under the terms of the contract Power Machines shall supply a set of heat exchange auxiliary equipment for turbine unit on the base of steam turbine K-1000-60/3000 of a power unit under construction including pipelines and pipeline fittings. The deadline of the supplies shall be the end of 2010. The price of the contract makes more than 4 billion Rubles.

In the end of 2007 Power Machines and Atomenergoprom signed a contract for supplies of steam turbine K-1000-60/3000 including condenser and turbogenerator TBB-1000-2УЗ of 1000 MW and two sets of drive turbine K-10-0,5 ПА-1 of Kaluga Turbine Works production. The same equipment was supplied by LMZ and Electrusila, branches of Power Machines, for the third power unit of Kalininskaya NPP in the end of the 1980ies – beginning of the 1990ies. Before that Electrosila supplied low-speed turbogenerators of 1000 MW for the first two power units of the plant.

The power unit No.4 of Kalininskaya NPP which is to be put into operation in 2011 is being constructed within the framework of Federal Target Program “Development of nuclear power complex in Russia from 2007 to 2010 and long term prospective up to 2015”. Within the framework of this program in February 2006 Power Machines signed a contract for supplies of a new pipeline system and modernization of a condenser of 1000 MW unit No.2 for Rostovskaya NPP, in June 2007 – a contract for supplies of a set of turbine island main equipment of unit No.4 under construction of Beloyarskaya NPP. In May 2008 Power Machines and Atomenergoprom signed a contract of supplies for supplies of main power equipment for Novovoronezhskaya NPP-2 and Leningradskaya NPP-2.

Kalininskaya NPP is located in the north of the Tver Region 125 km to the north from Tver. The plant comprises three operating power units with water-cooled reactor (ВВЭР-1000) of 1000 MW each. The plant is a part of United Power System.
