Power Machines OJSC and the Urta-Chirchik HPP Cascade unitary enterprise, a part of the Uzbekenergo State Joint Stock Company (Uzbekistan), signed a contract to retrofit four hydro units at Charvak HPP.
According to the terms of the contract, Power Machines are to carry out works to overhaul three 155 MW hydro units, including the replacement of their stators winding and installation of new excitation systems. The Russian power engineering company is also going to produce three hydro turbine impellers for hydro units No. 1, 2 and 4. In addition, Power Machines specialists are to retrofit the hydro mechanical equipment of regulators and oil pressure installations at all the four hydro units, to renovate automatic control systems and to frame a visual monitoring and control system at the HPP level. In addition to this, Power Machines are going to provide installation supervision and commissioning services.
The equipment is to be supplied under the contract within 2012 - 2015.
The equipment replacement at the four hydro units of the main hydro power plant in the Chirchik-Bozsu cascade permits not only to increase their capacity from 155 to 175 MW, but to enhance their reliability and performance as well.
