Power Machines gave a tour of Power Machines - Toshiba and the low-speed turbines complex for graduate and postgraduate students of the Polytechnic University "Summer School" on August 11, 2017.
The tour of the plant and the company specialists's lectures completed an extensive educational program for participants from more than 10 countries.
Lectures within the framework of the "Summer School" were devoted to the company's work on nuclear power industry facilities. In particular, Amina Akhaminova, PJSC Power Machines Assistant Director for Nuclear Power Engineering, told students about the company's current projects and organization of work on the projects. Alexei Tyukhtyayev, a design engineer working at the Turbina special design bureau, gave a lecture about design features of nuclear turbines and their components and the specific nature of equipment design.
"This year, Power Machines is a partner of the "Summer Polytechnic School", and we are very proud of the fact that our designers and engineers can make their contribution to the education of the best graduate and postgraduate students specializing in power engineering who come to us from all over the world," stated Elena Mordvinova, the head of Power Machines Staff Development Administration.
Apart from taking part in the Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University "International Polytechnic School", Power Machines carries out a number of educational projects in cooperation with leading universities that educate engineers and technicians. It organizes practical trainings for students with prospects of employment at the company, and gives tours of production facilities, conducts meetings with workers, develops a corporate training center, and supports the relevant departments at higher educational institutions.
