Trest No. 68, CJSC became the winning bidder for the general contract for the construction of a new power equipment production plant in the industrial area of Metallostroi (in St. Petersburg’s suburb district of Kolpino).
Based on state-of-the-art technologies, the new production facility of the Power Machines will expand the Company’s production capacity allowing it to manufacture new types of power equipment with guaranteed superior product quality, as well as to increase its technical capabilities and productivity, optimize production and auxiliary areas and reduce production operating costs.
Design documentation for the plant’s first stage will be developed by Rusal VAMI, OJSC under its contract with the Power Machines concluded in 2009.
The start-up facility, which will start manufacturing its first products in 2013, will include a unit for the production of high-power turbines and turbine generators for nuclear power plants, a balancing stand; a hardware system for power equipment, and engineering infrastructure facilities. The facility’s manufacturing program will be designed to produce two low-speed and two high-speed steam turbines per year with capacities of up to 1600 MW each and four turbine generators with the same capacity. Total investment into construction of the plant’s first stage will amount to about 6 bln rubles.
The Building Trust No. 68 is one of the leading industrial construction companies in Russia. Major projects constructed in recent years with the Company being the general contractor include: an ore processing plant in the village of Nebolchi in the Novgorod region, Nevskaya and Kirishi oil-processing stations of the Baltic Pipeline System, a marine terminal in the port of Primorsk (Vyborg district, Leningrad region). Moreover, Trest No. 68 performed reconstruction and repair of Velikiye Luki, Pes, Yaroslavl and Pravdino oil-pumping stations.
