Power Machines has manufactured and shipped a steam turbine condenser designed for Raahe TPP’s power unit, which is currently under construction.
A contract that contemplates manufacture and supply of power equipment for Raahe TPP’s new power unit was signed between the Consortium of Power Machines OJSC and Energico Oy, on the one part, and Ruukki Oy, on the other part. The contract was awarded following a competitive bidding process, the winner of which was the Russian-Finnish consortium consisting of the consortium’s leader, Energico Oy, Finland, and Power Machines OJSC.
Under the terms of the contract, Power Machines is to design, manufacture and supply a 125 MW steam turbine complete with a turbogenerator to the customer. Furthermore, the Russian power engineering company is to perform installation supervision, commissioning and startup works for the equipment supplied. The Finnish consortium partners are to supply auxiliary equipment and carry out installation activities. The launch of the new power unit is scheduled for 2016.
Earlier this year, in March, Power Machines manufactured and tested a 125 MW turbogenerator. Shipment of the turbogenerator is scheduled for September of current year.
A steam turbine manufacture is underway. Its acceptance testing is scheduled for mid-August 2015.
As a result of the implementation of the second power unit construction project, the capacity of Raahe TPP will amount to 125 MW, while the turbine set of the first power unit will be put on standby and preserved.
A 50 MW power unit operates at Raahe TPP. Its main equipment (turbine and generator) was produced by Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod and Electrosila, which are parts of Power Machines OJSC, in the 1950s.
