Power Machines manufactured and completed the shipment of the third hydroelectric generator with a capacity of 80 MW for the Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP under construction.
The supply agreement for four 80 MW hydroelectric generators for the Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP was signed between the Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP company (PJSC RusHydro’s subsidiary) and Power Machines in September 2013.
According to the agreement, Power Machines will design, manufacture, and supply to the customer four sets of hydropower unit equipment, each set including a Kaplan hydroturbine complete with an automated control system, a hydroelectric generator with an excitation system, and auxiliary equipment for the hydropower unit. Power Machines will also install the hydropower units at the HPP.
After commissioning, the design capacity of the Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP will reach 320 MW, with an annual gross generation of 1,650,000 kWh.
The specific features of this project include environmentally safe design of the hydroturbines – the hydroturbines’ runner cavity is designed oil-free, so that oil leaks into water are eliminated.
The following components have so far been delivered to the HPP construction site: two generators, excitation systems (3 sets), and hydroturbine equipment components, such as embedded pipelines (3 sets), mounting tools, linings for the intake aspiration tunnel cone (4 sets), the turbine stator (4 sets), scroll case linings (4 sets), turbine pit linings (4 sets), the runner chamber (3 sets), auxiliary equipment (4 sets), the turbine shaft (2 sets), the electrohydraulic governor (1 set), the hydromechanical part of the oil pressure unit (1 set), and turbine automation equipment (2 sets).
Currently, installation operations have been completed at the HPP site; the embedded parts of hydroturbines No. 1 and 2 have been prepared for grouting; the pit linings and embedded parts of hydroturbines No. 3 and 4 are being installed.
