Power Machines is continuing to participate in the Kygy HPP construction project in Turkey

Operations to install generator rotor into HPP first hydroelectric crater and to install hydroturbine into HPP second hydroelectric crater have been successfully completed under the supervision of Power Machines technicians on the construction site of Kygy HPP in Turkey.

Parallel to these activities, operations to assemble the first hydrogenerator, the second and the third hydroturbine are underway on the construction site. Commissioning of the three hydroelectric generating units is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2017.

The contract for manufacture and delivery of hydroequipment for the Kygy hydroelectric power plant now under construction in Turkey was concluded between Power Machines and DSI, Turkey (department of water reservoirs and HPPs of the chief state agency for water resources under the Forestry and Hydro Engineering Facilities Ministry) in December 2013.

In keeping with its contractual obligations, Power Machines manufactured and delivered electrical and mechanical equipment of the HPP on turnkey basis, including three hydroturbines, 46.6 МW each, with pre-turbine gate valves, three generators of similar capacity, all the electrical and mechanical equipment of the main generator hall and the switchgear.

The project is to culminate in the commissioning of the three hydroelectric generating units.

Power Machines’ involvement in construction of Kygy HPP is a follow-up on the successful track record of the power engineering company in Turkey: in 2008, Power Machines had completed a project to deliver and supervise installation of the equipment for the Torul HPP.

Previously, Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod and Electrosila, which are part of Power Machines Group of Companies, had manufactured and delivered to Turkey a 210 MW steam turbine complete with a generator for Orhaneli TPP and two steam turbines, capacity 55 MW each for Iskanderun TPP.

Also, Taganrog Boiler Making Works Krasny Kotelshchik (which is part of Power Machines) delivered six boilers for all the power generating units for Iskanderun TPP.

Since 2003, the company’s regional representative office has been functioning in Turkey.
