Power Machines Have Shipped the First of Two Generators for Armenia's Only Nuclear Power Plant

PJSC Power Machines has shipped the first turbogenerator for the Armenian NPP. The scope of supply also includes auxiliary systems, process monitoring and field systems.

The equipment will be delivered by sea to the Poti port (Georgia), from which it will be transported by land to the Armenian NPP.

Under a contract signed in December 2016 with the JSC "Integrated NPP Equipment Ordering Directorate" (a member of the Rosatom State Corporation), PJSC Power Machines must manufacture and deliver two package turbogenerators, with a nominal capacity of 236 MW, with field and process control systems for the second power unit of the Armenian NPP that is being modernized by Rosatom. The scope of the work also includes the supervised installation and supervised adjustment of the equipment.

The new units will replace the old ones, which were manufactured back in late 1970s at Electrosila, without modifying the foundations. They will be replaced complete with auxiliary systems; this is one of particular features of the work on this project.

The commissioning of the equipment is scheduled for 2018-2019.
