Power Machines has shipped out a low-pressure rotor for a turbine unit of Chitinskaya TPP-1 of PJSC «TGC-14»

Power Machines has completed the reconstruction of the low-pressure rotor (LPR) for the turbine unit of Chitinskaya TPP, and then the rotor weighing 16 tons was sent to the Zabaikalye Territory by vehicle.

During the work activities, specialists from Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (LMZ) made up a measurements chart, eliminated visible defects of the blade system, performed sandblast machining, and grooved out the rotor journals, grooved out seating surfaces for shell-type components of new half-couplings which were also fabricated at LMZ, and performed dynamic balancing of the rotor. A significant part of the works were performed in attendance of representatives of PJSC «TGC-14». 

To date, all the equipment having been fabricated by Power Machines including the reconstructed LPR, has been delivered to the site of Chitinskaya TPP-1 in the full scope. The start of erection works is scheduled for the third quarter of this year. 

Contract for modernization of cogeneration turbine CT-60-90/13 at Chitinskya TPP-1 assumes production of the equipment set including such large assembly units as HPC, the high pressure rotor and the stop valve box as well as units for modernization under conditions of the mid and high pressure cylinder plant. In addition, the Power machines experts will provide installation supervision services. 

Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod has developed a wide range of technical solutions which allow them to perform many technological operations in the shortest time possible and with minimal costs. These include subassembly equipment modernization with an increase of technical and economical parameters to the present-day level as well as complete replacement of this type of turbines.

As a result of the works, the steam turbine with a capacity of 60 MW will be converted into a «AP» (anti-pressure) type. The new wheel space part of LPC developed by the designers of the company allows the condenser to be excluded from the work to avoid heat losses, directing all the steam to the heating selection during the modernization.

Implementation of the project will increase the reliability of heat and electricity supply of the TPP, extend the service life of the equipment, and increase the efficiency of Chita TPP-1 when the turbine is operated in the back-pressure mode.
