Power Machines has manufactured and transferred to the customer’s representatives the pre-turbine gate valve for the first unit turbine, as well as the scroll case, the runner, and the stator for the third unit of the Kygy HPP. The shipment of the new equipment is scheduled for the end of August this year.
A contract for the manufacture and delivery of the hydraulic equipment for the Kygy hydroelectric power plant currently under construction in Turkey was signed between Power Machines and the Turkish company DSI (the Directorate for State Hydraulic Works of the General State Agency for Water Resources under the Ministry for Forestry and Hydraulic Structures) in December 2013.
According to the contract, Power Machines will manufacture and deliver electromechanical equipment for the HPP on a turnkey basis, including three hydroturbines 46.6 MW each, complete with pre-turbine gate valves, three generators of similar capacity, all electromechanical equipment for the turbine hall, and a switchgear. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2017, with the commissioning of the power plant’s three hydraulic units.
Currently, the first of the three hydroelectric generators has been delivered to the HPP site. The delivery of the second and third generators, shipped in July this year, is scheduled for the end of August 2015.
The participation Power Machines in the Kygy HPP construction project has continued the successful activity by the Russian power engineering company in Turkey. For example, in 2008, Power Machines implemented an equipment supply and installation supervision project for the Torul HPP. Power Machines factories have also manufactured and delivered equipment for Orhaneli and Iskenderun thermal power plants in Turkey.
The company’s regional branch has been running in Turkey since 2003.
