Power Machines Group won a tender for modernization of HPP in Kazakhstan

Russian machinery-building company Power Machines Group won a tender for modernization of the first power unit of Ust-Kamenogorskaya HPP (Kazakhstan). The main competitors of the Power Machines Group were well known in the international power market companies Alstom, Tehnopromexport and Energomash Corporation.

In 1950-1960 four hydro power units with the capacity 82,8 MW of each were put into operation on the Ust-Kamenogorskaya HPP. Installed power capacity is 331,2 MW.

Power Machines Group shall carry out modernization of the existing four power units. The term of execution of the Project makes 5 years. In the course of modernization it is planned to replace excitation system and generator stator coil (manufactured by OJSC Electrosila), to carry out works on runner of the hydro turbine (manufactured by OJSC Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod) and distributor.

The price of the contract reaches 5 million US$. A Contract inter parties will be signed till the end of the year.
