Exhibition «My land» will be open in St. Petersburg with the support of Severgroup companies: Severstal, Power Machines and Nordgold

Exhibition «My land» opened on December 15, 2016 at the State Russian Museum will crown the education-and-exhibition project «How beautiful this world is» aimed at the artistic and creative development of children and teenagers. The exhibition presents the drawings of children from Petrozavodsk, Cherepovets, Kostomuksha and Vorkuta. The authors of the works are 5 to 17 year-old educatees of art palaces and centers, artistic and comprehensive schools, art schools, gymnasia, child day-care centers.

«The young painters depict the home grounds beauty in their works: the urban and countryside landscapes are presented at different times of the year; the famous architectural monuments have been shown with affection and kindness to details. The authors gave much prominence to national traditions and family values. The excursions, celebrations, and pets found implementation in the bright, colourful works filled with imagination and amazement at the surrounding world», said Boris Stolyarov, professor, Head of the department of the «Russian center of museum pedagogics and children's crafts» of the State Russian Museum.

«It is symbolic that the creative work of children from the regions of our company’s presence features one unifying theme: the work of people associated with coal extraction and metal production», comments Natalya Poppel, Head of Office for Corporate Social Responsibility and Brand of Severstal Company.

The drawings have been made on various materials and in different techniques: these are gouache, watercolors, lead pencil, felt pen, gel pens, pastel, lino print, and scratchboard.

The young Petersburgers and the guests of the northern capital will be able to see the achievements of their contemporaries from the other Russian regions up to January 10, 2017.

The education-and-exhibition project «How beautiful this world is» is aimed at the artistic and creative development of children and teenagers. During 2016 it was held in Petrozavodsk, Cherepovets, Kostomuksha and Vorkuta. The local residents of these cities and towns had a chance to get themselves familiar with exhibition «Petersburg in children’s creative work» from the Foundation of children’s creative work of the Russian museum, educational projects and methodological literature, take part in the workshop sessions.
